After graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson College of Dental Medicine, Dr. Joel Singer completed post-graduate training in advanced general dentistry at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he also served as Clinical Instructor. He established a private practice in 1988 while continuing advanced courses in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, including completion of the prestigious Advanced Ultimate Esthetic Program. Additionally, Dr. Singer was selected to serve as Clinical Instructor of Advanced Aesthetic Continuums at New York University to teach other dentists these advanced techniques.
Dr. Singer has achieved Fellowship Status in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), an honor achieved by only a small percentage of dentists, signifying his commitment to continuing education. He is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the premiere organization for continuing education in aesthetic dentistry. By attending the Annual Scientific Session of the AACD each year, Dr. Singer provides the finest aesthetic results dentistry has to offer.
The Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS) provides training in the use of oral sedation. With this advanced training, his office has safely provided “sleep dentistry,” enabling anxious patients and those requiring extensive treatment to complete their necessary treatment in fewer, totally comfortable appointments. Dr. Singer has been a member of DOCS since 2000.
Using exclusively mercury-safe, bio-compatible materials since 1993, Dr. Singer is a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and has earned his Fellowship in the Institute for Natural Dentistry (FIND). He employs the safest methods for the removal of mercury fillings as per the IAOMT strict standards. He has also recently become a member of the International Association of Mercury Free Dentists (IAMFD), an association for dentists who are committed to the philosophy, concepts and practice of mercury-safe dentistry.
Always on the cutting edge of dentistry, Dr. Singer offers his patients the opportunity to have crowns and onlays completed in one convenient visit using CEREC 3D Technology. Ceramic/porcelain crowns and onlays are fabricated and inserted at the same visit, eliminating the need for uncomfortable impressions, temporary restorations and follow-up appointments.
Dr. Singer’s team members have been selected for their exceptional skills and compatible philosophy regarding excellent patient care.
“I consider myself to be extremely fortunate that I have been able to build an exceptional team that also shares in my philosophy to bringing a whole-body approach for oral health and well-being, both physically and emotionally. These unique individuals have been selected for their exceptional skills, professionalism and sensitive nature.
My team is required to take continuing education credits that include the latest information provided by the state regarding communicable diseases and infection control. Each member of my team is professionally trained, and they have a superb understanding of OSHA and the knowledge that comes from years of experience. For your added safety, every staff member is CPR and First Aid certified.” — Dr. Singer
My work experience at Dr. Singer’s is nothing short of exciting and challenging. There is something new to learn every day! With a background in psychology, I have always had a passion to help others. My goal for patients is to make their experience here a comfortable one. My job is unique because you can find me doing everything, ranging from patient treatment financials to answering phones. And there is nothing I wouldn’t do to help my team. With over ten years of experience in the dental field, I am confident helping patients have a great experience and am here to answer any questions they may have. Outside of the office, I love to spend time with my family and dog, Harley. I also try to travel as often as possible even if it’s a quick weekend getaway.
I have over seventeen years of experience in customer service, ranging from my time at my family’s restaurant to the corporate world of Marriot hotels. I value each patient that walks through the door, and I enjoy helping patients get the best dental care that Dr. Singer has to offer. I am here to assist patients through explaining and discussing insurance benefits and processing dental claims. I enjoy working with our patients on the financial aspects of their dental needs and I hope to make their visit less stressful and more satisfying.
I have lived in New Jersey my entire life, and I am blessed to have a healthy, beautiful family. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, dancing and traveling to exotic locations.
I started my career in dentistry at the age of 19 as a dental assistant, and I later graduated from Bergen Community College’s dental hygiene program in 1989. I have been employed with Dr. Singer for thirteen years, and my 21 years of dental experience had given me a great understanding of dental fears and phobias. I am dedicated to helping patients through these hurdles. I know that being compassionate, truly listening, and making a patient feel safe and comfortable can turn a frightening experience into an educational and enjoyable one. My patients feel as though they are not only my patients but a part of our dental family.
It is my goal to keep my patients healthy by providing head and neck cancer screenings, periodontal screenings and diagnostic imaging. I also use patient education and regular cleanings to prevent serious dental issue. For example, if periodontal disease or infection is present, I work with Dr. Singer to provide a non-surgical therapy and team with the patient to create a personalized homecare routine that will aid in managing the condition. I work alongside Dr. Singer not only to keep patients healthy but also provide them a lifetime of smiles.
In my free time, I love spending time with my husband Jerry, my son Cole, our dog and four bunnies.
My name is Laurie, and I’ve been a Registered Dental Assistant for over 20 years. I’ve been cross-trained in all aspects of our dental office, and I consider myself extremely lucky to work with Dr. Singer for most of my career. My goal is to be honest, compassionate, and supportive to my team and foremost, to our patients. To me, they have become a part of my extended family. In my down time, I love traveling, spending time with my partner, John, and my dog, Brutus.
