Sedation DentistryAs a member of the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (D.O.C.S.), Dr. Singer has achieved advanced training to care for the large population of people who avoid the dentist due to fear.
Through Oral Sedation Dentistry, patients can have dental care completed while they are totally relaxed and absolutely comfortable. Oral sedation has been highly praised for its excellent safety record, quick onset and recovery. While patients are totally relaxed, we provide the care they need, often concluding treatment in two visits. Unlike IV sedation, there are no needles to dread and no long recovery period.
For the Fearful Patient
Once you've experienced sedation dentistry with Dr. Singer, you'll probably never be afraid to go to the dentist again.
You'll be sedated just enough to be unaware of the treatment, as if you were relaxing. You'll wake up refreshed, with little or no memory of what was accomplished. Because you are completely comfortable, Dr. Singer can do years of dental treatments in one or two visits.
Dr. Singer can replace crowns or dentures, restore sore gums to good health, whiten yellow or stained teeth, fix a chipped tooth, and more. People with very busy schedules can get the dental care they need, easily and quickly.
Imagine being able to smile with confidence and chew your food without pain. No wonder so many patients say: "Thank you, Dr. Singer. Sedation dentistry changed my life."
Oral Sedation Dentistry is especially appealing to adults with...
High fear or very sensitive teeth
Past traumatic dental experiences
Difficulty getting numb
A bad gag reflex
Limited time to complete dental care
Complex dental problems
A dread of needles and shots
Discomfort associated with noises, smells and tastes
Oral Sedation - This is a cost effective alternative to I.V. Sedation, yet highly effective in controlling discomfort and anxiety. In an easy-to-swallow pill form, oral sedation is typically used for many routine dental procedures in our office.
I.V. Sedation - If a maximal level of sedation is desired or needed, Dr. Singer can incorporate I.V. Sedation into your treatment through team members who are specially trained and certified.
Also known as “twilight sleep”, this option normally eliminates all discomfort and memory of dental procedures.
About Oral Sedation
It works safely.
You swallow a small pill prior to treatment. No needles are used.
You snooze through your appointment. Treatment normally requiring 6-8 visits can often be done in one visit.
People who have had difficulty getting numb in the past typically experience no problem when relaxed to this extent.
After you return home, you will feel refreshed and back to normal within several hours.
