Infection Control

A recent survey of dental patients showed that patient protection was #1 on their list of concerns about dental care. Fortunately, trips to the dentist have never been safer. We have responded by adopting “universal precautions” since the start of my practice in 1993. These involve sterilizing all instruments including handpieces (drills) between patients in our steam autoclave to kill any bacteria. Disposable items are used whenever possible. All surfaces in the operatory are cleaned with ADA approved disinfectants and surfaces covered. We use sterilize distilled water in our lines, as well as an air purifying system. Instruments will be removed from their packages in your presence for you to observe that they have been sterilized.

We adhere to the highest standards of OSHA requirements. My staff is required to take continuing education credits which include the latest information provided by the state regarding communicable diseases and infection control. I am proud to say that my staff is professionally trained, have a superb understanding of OSHA and the knowledge that comes from years of experience. For your added safety every staff member is CPR and First Aid Certified.
